Fuel Tank Brackets

Howdy gang!

 

I went ahead and started to replace my driver's side gas tank ('87 V20 truck) and have come into a snag. Other than the 20 yr old mud and muck that came down onto me, this is where I am at.

 

I have the new replacement tank and straps and mounting hardware. When I lowered the old tank, I found that the old existing straps are riveted to the mounting fuel tank brackets. Those brackets are shot and I cant put the new tank on the truck until I have these brackets.

 

Dont be confused with the tank straps, these are the brackets that the straps attach to, the brackets that are bolted to the frame.

 

I went to various different sites (spectra auto parts, lmctruck.com...) and havent found any yet. I emailed those sites and am waiting for their response.

 

Anybody run into a similar situation or know where I should look. Going to a salvage yard will be my last option. Dont want another rusted out bracket.
