Low Range Won't Engage

My 99 Denali will not engage in low range. The 4hi and Auto Trac do work. The transfer case will try to shift two times with the 4low light blinking and then it will go back to 4hi.

 

I have tried with the truck moving and stopped with the same results.

 

Any Ideas ?

You do have the tranny in neutral right? It won't engage 4Lo while in gear.

Not trying to be a jerk, but a quick read of the owner's manual might be a good idea.

I have read the book and own another truck that shifts fine.

Odd that it will shift OK into 4HI and Auto 4WD, but not 4LO. Maybe the switch telling the computer the transmission is in nuetral is not working as it will not allow the transfer case to switch into 4LO if it is not in nuetral. That is the one difference between the 4HI shift and the 4LO shift.

I am having the exact same problem on my 2005 1500HD crew. Any help or advise would be appreciated.

Maybe not identical to your problem but....in my 99 I had strange problems operating 4WD, ultimately found to be a bad selector switch on the console...replaced it and all was good.
