03 1500 Hd Exhaust Opinions

I am going to put duals on my 03 1500HD 6.0L. Wanted to get some opinions between 2 options that I am considering. I can go with two 40 series flowmasters or one 50 series Flowmaster (this is a 2 in 2 out muffler). How much louder would the 2 40 series mufflers be and how much more cab resonance than going with the one 50 series? Thanks in advance!

Howdy. I am about to do the same thing. In my shopping thus far, I am hearing a common theme and that is the 6.0 trucks are prone to have a resonance at certain RPM ranges and sometimes at highway speeds. The shop that is going to do mine will do either dual Flowmaster 40s or dual Dynomax Super Turbos. I am going with the Super Turbos because I don't want the extra noise (just a healthy growl, so to speak) and it is their recommendation for my truck, all things considered. They also recommended an "x-pipe" configuration to reduce resonance issues.

Not sure this is helpful to you... good luck.

Those are great mufflers. I've heard them on a old 5.7L TBI... they're quiet, but have a nice throaty tone.

From what the shop is telling me, they are also outstanding from a performance standpoint. Thanks for the reply. I will be making the buy in early June and I will post up here my thoughts.

I went with the Flowmaster 50 series muffler. WOW, this engine is hot! This 6.0L engine is night and day compared to the 5.3L enginees. Love this sound. No cab resonance whatsoever.

Sounds better than my old 5.3L Silverado with one Flowmaster 40 series. Even sounds better than my old Chevelle with 2 40 series Flowmasters.

Thanks for all input.

Sweet... I'll still post up about my quieter mufflers... For what it's worth.
