Bugs, d**n Dirty Bugs

any suggestions on how to keep the front of your truck relatively clean of bugs, or should i say, easiest way to keep bug crap of my new truck

Wax the truck after you wash it and keep that up every 4 months. Bugs will wash right off.

Ya could start driving backwards.

 

On some parts ya can't really wax, I've heard some people talking about using Lemon Pledge. Makes bug clean-up easier, and gives the truck that fresh, clean smell.

oh yea try neverdull on the chrome pieces (grill/front bumper). This will help add a coat of protection before the bugs hit and makes it easier to clean

I tried some stuff from RainX that is a clear, spray on coating that comes off when you wash it...It's supposed to do exactly what you're asking...I'm going to see how much easier the bugs come off this time around. I don't drive the SS every day, so it doesn't get many bugs on it. We'll see.

 

However, if I'm going to do a road trip when I know that there will be lots of bugs...I shoot Pam cooking spray all over the front end (NOT THE WINDSHIELD). I do the same on my ATV...It makes the mud, bugs, and everything else just come right off when you hit it with the warm water/soap of the car wash.

Also - if they are really bad - go out right after a long rain and wash them off. When they get saturated with water they come off much easier. It would take a lot of patience and waste of water to do this with a hose.

Sandpaper gets the bugs off real easy, just kidding, how about that 3M clear film? Spray that with Pam cooking spray, I dont think I want to spray Pam cooking spray all over the paint and chrome.

Get some Meguiars quick detail, & on a daily basis ( or atleast after alot of driving ) spray ur front end down & wipe it clean. Longer you let it sit the harder the removal will be.

I have this product called ClearBra on the whole front end of my truck. Works wonderful when I go to rinse the bugs off. Also prevents chips and small dings. Little pricey but well worth it.
