2001 Aux Input W/ Pxgm9 Adapter

I bought a PXGM9 aux input adapter from peripheral electronics and thought that I could make it work even though it says that you need to have a working slave unit on the truck. So far I've been mistaken. Is there any way to change the wiring to make the radio think there is a slave unit so it will switch to the aux input? Hooking up 12 volt to one of the wires perhaps to simulate a signal?? I really want to hook up my sirius and ipod without spending a ton of money so any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to do this on a 2001 GMC and the factory H/U is just the normal am/fm/cd. Thanks!
