OUMike Posted June 26, 2007 Posted June 26, 2007 Any fans? I'm headed to the August 14th show (day after my 23rd bday) in Houston, TX. Anyone else headed there?

Yea, I've got all the live albums and they are really good, but if there's one thing I've learned is that live albums and actually being there can be completely different. I'm very excited. Ticket was a fortune ($90), but everyone tells me its definitely worth it.
trever1t Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 Rush is as good-or better in concert than as recorded. The last time I saw them....13 years ago, I was amazed how clean their sound was live.
Guest chevydeerhunter Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 I wish I could. They're one of the tightest bands around.
thecraft Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 Man that's cool, I haven't heard those guys since KLOL was taken off the air back a few years ago.
OUMike Posted June 27, 2007 Author Posted June 27, 2007 Man that's cool, I haven't heard those guys since KLOL was taken off the air back a few years ago. Haha, I remember KLOL. Even then the only thing they really ever played was Tom Sawyer or Freewill.
KTSTEEL Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 RUSH plays one of the best shows around. Well worth the price of admission. I have been to 12 of their shows.
Frank S Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 I've been to 7 shows myself and as much as I'd like to see them when they come back to Houston, no way in hell am I going to hit up the Woodlands in August. And yes, amazing show. The Presto tour back in 1990 was still to this day one of the best concerts I've ever seen. The light show during Xanadu was epic.

Ticket prices scare you off? They would have me too if I had ever seen them before, but this will be my first show.
Frank S Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 No not the ticket prices. Just that even after dark it will still be in the mid 90's with 100% humidity and mosquitos trying to carry you away. The only way I'd have even considered it was to get covered reserve. But yeah like I said I've seen them 7 times. Would love to see them again but definitely would prefer an indoor venue. All that said though, you won't be disappointed as they really are great entertainers.

I dunno if it was because of the crappy weather all day or what, but the bugs and the heat really weren't that bad. I'll be sure take good pictures since I'll be in row HH seat 1. Nobody in front of me to block.
