Hey Guys, Newbie here. I have a NBS shortbox WT 2WD

I lowered it 4/6 with DJM kit. I added 20 inch SS wheels and it looks sharp

 

My question is:

I put 20 inch SS wheels on and now have the service tier pressure ststom message on the DIC

 

 

 

I seen other post about the RCDLR (remote control door lock receiver) also receiving the TPMS signals.

 

 

 

OK point is other post said this comes as a part which the tpms part has to be turned on

 

and once on it cannot be turned of by the dealer.

 

 

 

So instead of buying 4 new sensors I want to replace the RCDLR at 79 bucks

 

 

 

does anyone know has this worked?

You're stuck with the TPMS on your truck. The RCDLR controls the TPMS, VATS, door locks, remote start and coffee warmer. The TPMS cannot be eliminated by tuning or a Tech 2. Add the tire sensors from your original 2007 NBS wheels to your custom wheels and be thankful you have such a good early disaster warning system installed. If the TPMS sensors do not work on your custom wheels, you'll be looking at that tire light on your dash a long time.

I don't want to detune it. I read on another post about someone who had a RCDLR that was not programmed when installed to communicate with the TPMS Sensors.

 

Further noted was the fact that when you buy a RCDLR/remote control door lock receiver that the TPMS function has to be programed by the dealer to make it work. As does its other functions.

 

My point is If I buy this part and dont have it turned on then it won't be looking for a signal hence no light.

 

I have no remote door openers and everything else is manual also.

 

I think if this works it would allow many of us to switch wheels and save on relearniing and cost of new sensors.
