I'm looking for a GM Tech Service bulletin or notice regarding the 06 1500 series Silverado Z71 with factory Bridgestone Dueler P26570R17 problems.

Specifically, problems with customers complaining of out of balance, flat spots, shimmies, vehicle feeling like it's hopping down the road, etc.

Notice/Bulletin talks about: Tire Balance, rotation, wheel alignment, and tire replacement.

thanks

I don't know about any bulletins but back in May my dealer replaced my wife's 4 tires from premature tire wear. At 13,360 miles they were wearing out fast. A guy I work with has the same problem, went to a different dealer and they would not replace them.

Are Bridgestone and Firestone the same company now? Our new tires are still Dueler A/T but they have a lot different tread. I am considering going to Sam's club tomorrow and get this same tire for my 2500HD in a 265/16/. It is a pretty good looking tread and I will be pulling my truck at four local fairs next month and they look like they will get better grip then the Bridgestone that they come thru from the factory.

I've taken the vehicle to local Firestone Dealer and they're gonna replace the tires. They were not aware of the Product Information Update until I showed it to them. So, they'll cover under warranty I have to pay for mileage use, but going to upgrade to the Dueler Revo tires in P26570R17 and it'll work out to around $83 a tire or so...

Not happy with GM service...Happy with Firestone Dealer!

Can you provide any more information on the Product Information Update. Bridgestone says that it don't exist.

in my opinion..... if you have had trouble with your Bridgestone or Firestone tires (same tires, all made by the same company...) then just be glad you have not had a tread separation blowout at 70 mph.... get rid of them, forget any Product Bulletin or warranty.... suck it up, and just go buy some good quality aftermarket tires (BFG, Cooper, Toyo, Michelin, or whatever...)

these guys do not care about YOU or YOUR SAFETY ... they only care about themselves and putting the cheapest possible tire on OEM trucks that they can get away with.... generation after generation, Firestone is the brand that consistently has problem tires... frankly I don't know how they stay in business... they certainly don't get any of mine.

I suspect that your advise is right on. In talking to local tire shops they tell me case after case of Bridgestone tires wearing out the same way. I spent some time talking to a Bridgestond Factory rep and got nothing out of him. Pretty much they don't warrent much of anything on orginial tires.

After talking to a couple of Firestone shops and getting asked question like "can you prove you rotated as the manuel states" I don't know if they will warrenty tires even if they sold them.

Anyway I have thought of flipping them rim to rim and letting them wear out the other side for a while.

Thanks for the reply
