Problems With Tail Lights

I'm starting to have problems with what I believe to be the wiring for several tail lights. The tail light on the driver side that comes on when the headlights come on no longer works, and I've tried about 4 different bulbs (this is the lowest light on the tail lamp assembly and is a 197 bulb). In addition, only 1 of my license plate lights works and I've tried 4 different bulbs in the bad connecter, as well. None of the connectors are corroded and I get no voltage reading from my multimeter when I try to test the circuit. Do I have to purchase all new wiring harnesses or is there another fix for this? Might this be covered by a recall? I had related problems when my truck was under warranty, but I'm now at 62,000 mi and out of warranty now and am looking for the cheapest possible solution. Thanks.

I just tested at the socket... I guess I should test at the connector to isolate the problem to the harness (hopefully)?

GM has problems with the tail light circuit boards.

Hey thanks for this info. I noticed when I got home from work today that now, the passenger tail lamp assembly is working perfectly, but the driver's side is completely out when the headlights are on, yet the brake lights and the reverse light still work, but the blinker pattern on the driver side is also different from the passenger side. I set up a service appointment on Wednsday with the dealer and since you mentioned circuit board issues, I feel confident this may be the issue due to the eratic operation of the lights.
