Painted My Engine Cover The Color Of My Truck

i wanted to dress up the engine bay with alittle paint. so i went the to paint supply shop and got a pint of paint which was $60 . i scuffed the cover sprayed it with some adhesion(sp) promoter and then shot it with some high build prime. sanded it smooth so that there is no texture in the paint. based it then cleared it and the i installed it today. i very pleased with the results. im in the process of painting some other things, but ill post pics of them when they are done. let me know what you think.

Looks bad a#$! I would do mine but I don't think that white would look so good, especially after a few months of heat and dirt.

looks real good man my truck is black but I might do it anyway. the smooth look makes it look more classy and not so plasticish.

Looks awsome, I did the same to my cover, victory red on the cover and black on the vortec/top ribs. Yours looks smooth as glass nice job!

Your cover there looks great 04sierra2500HD. And I can understand the sticker shock for a pint of paint.

I have had mine painted white for about a year now. It is holding up really well with the heat and stuff. I don't know if it made any difference, but I used a high-solid aircraft primer and paint.

Looks really good painted. Makes it look un-cheap and un-plastic like. (language butchering 101)

 

Next you can custom paint your driveshaft. Never know... might start a trend!
