Ford Supercharged Rumor?

I read somewhere this week that Ford is coming out with a blown V8 for their trucks. Anyone? I'd much prefer the Yukon XL Denali over the Expedition, but if it's got a huge edge in power for my towing duties I may just be swayed to look at it. The deleting of the 8.1 in the burbs has caused me pains. I am testing my 07 Sierra Denali on our 7-8K trailer today.

Well, they've been putting blown V8's in Lightnings for about 6 years. Moving one over to a larger vehicle isn't out of the question.

Heck, if thats what you want you can get an Expedition and buy a used blower from someone off the Lightning forum. They upgrade all the time. Easy upgrade.

Not a rumor. The only truck coming out in 2008 is the Harley-Davidson F-150 and it can be equipped with a optional supercharged 5.4L V8. Going to put 450 hp out. See below

However, most will be equipped with the 6 speed automatic

Why not buy a diesel? If you want something for towing, thats the ticket. Plus if you go buy a 1 tonne you dont have to pay luxury taxes on them, they're "work trucks", they will almost be the same price as a Sierra Denali. Than you could pull your 8K trailer and the Ford Expedition pulling the other way. Not to mention the diesel will burn way less fuel than an 8.1 or a blown 5.4.

so it's only coming out in the f150 harley-davidson, too bad. need a large suv tower, not a pickup. i tested my 07 sierra denali towing about 7K today, to see if the same spec'd yukon xl denali will cut it for our needs, it did well. i will post a full report later.
