Bose H/u In W/t

I've been looking into buying a Bose head unit (#15196055) for my truck. The only thing is, I don't know if it will work or not. I have an 06' W/T (which means a crappy head unit and no cd player). Can I put in this head unit or does it not just slide in? I've heard different things about the Bose head units and amps and wiring. Really...how much do I have to do/change to make it work and is it worth it in your opinions? I'm looking for some sort of head unit that will actually fill the whole hole and appear to be stock(so most after markets are pretty much not in consideration). Let me know your thoughts and help a novice out. I appreciate it.

You cannot simply install a Bose HU in a non Bose system. Amps, speakers, everthing must change.

Trust me, you do NOT want to spend any time converting to Bose. If you want a better system (even on a budget) change the head to an aftermarket HU and change the speakers. You can do all this for less than $500 total and you'll be much better off.

There is a harness that can be removed out of a bose system truck.People think the bose harness is mixed in with the dash harness but in fact it is not.BUT the harness that is removeable is only in trucks and suvs that do NOT have the Y91 opt,as far as i have found out and is a pain to remove in the truck with the dash still in it.Escalade/denali bose harness is mixed with dash harness and cant be removed by unpluging connectors. The gm part # is 15477245 for the bose harness. The down side of this you will have to have the non-lux amp to make a 6-disk in dash work, and being you have a w/t you have no console to put the amp in so you will have to hide it under seat.I am a bodyshop and a rebuilder,we take this harness out all the time for those who dont want the console, but want the jump seat.We take it out and put a reg, cd player/non bose/were the 6-disk was.We keep the bose 6-disk amp and harness in trade for the fold down console jump seat.If you want to add just a cd player or go all the way with the bose setup, let me know,I keep the 6-disk and harness in stock, brand new 6-disk and harness and instructions on how to rout it for about $350.00+ship.Email me at [email protected] :)
