I've used the Diablosport predator in the past for other vehicles, I'm wondering if anyone has experience with the the U7194 model for '07 Silverado's (NBS)?

Thanks, Brian

Don't bother. It cannot remove or alter TM in the GMT900's like it can in the older trucks. I am waiting until I can get a tune/tuner that can.

Which is ashame because I already picked one up off of ebay. I guess my only hope at this point is that there's an update for it in the future which will disable the TM.

I sure hope so, but I am not holding my breath. I guess GM is doing everything they can to keep people from removing it. That is why it's so hard to get PCM cores.

Also, the U7194 will not work on 1500 series Crew Cabs with the LH6 "M" engine.. Sorta sucks.

What engine is the LH6 "M"???? 5.3 flexfuel?

I believe the "M" is the aluminum engine and the "J" is iron.....anyone know the difference between the 2 besides the material it's made from? I'm assuming the aluminum motor is lighter but dont know if there is a power difference?

There's a ton of info here:

http://media.gm.com/us/powertrain/en/produ...008/08truck.htm

I reviewed all of this before I purchased my '07 LTZ vmax.

Essentialy, here's the breakdown (6.0L) The 1500's get the L76 "Aluminum" engine because we're light duty and GM wanted to keep the weight down (about 200lbs lighter than the iron 6.0L). Wheres the 2500's and anything with a 2500 frame or bigger gets the LY6 "Iron" block because it's heavy-duty. You'll also notice that they are tuned diffrently and the L76 has more juice.

The LH6 is the aluminum 5.3 v8 block. So yes, it appears that the U7194 will not work with this engine, only the '07 larger bore models. In reviewing their site, I cannot find a predator which will work on the 07 NBS 5.3/4.8 series engine. The next one down is the U7192 which only works upto the '07 classic models.

How about the mirrors, do they vibrate like they do on many/all classic 800's with the bugshield installed?

I have a 1500 with the "J" 5.3L engine, and it's the cast iron block. The Diablo will work with this engine. As far as the differences between the "J" and the "M" other than the block, I have no idea!

I went for the Edge over the Diablo because it has the ability to monitor vital engine functions, and displays up to 4 readings at a time. When towing I can keep an eye on things like Trans Temp, Oil Pressure, Oil Temp and Water Temp at a glance (all digital read outs), as well as tune for performance, towing, and economy. It will also alert you if any of these vitals hit a point you can set on the Edge. So, if any fluid temp gets too high or pressure drops, it flashes red and beeps at you! Kind of a nice feature when towing heavy loads for any distance. I have read here that the Diablo does remove some TM, unconfirmed as to how much. The Edge won't, but with towing a Travel Trailer I don't look at TM as a bad thing. If it will make the engine and transmission last longer I'm good with it!

I have the EGR Lo-Profile Bug Shield on my truck and have no vibrations or noise from the windshield...

I spoke to a programmer from Preditor and they can t get the WOT delay out either but he did say they are working on that and it was a priority for them.

Thanks for posting that info. I'm sure there's quite a few of us here interested in their effors (among other companies, etc).

Something else to keep in mind, the Preditor is internet updatable, so if you got it now and 6 months from now, they broke the code on the WOT delay, you can download the update and be good to go...

You sure about that? What if "cracking the code" requires a new model, not just software? Or what if they are unsuccessful in making a handheld capable of doing this? Sorry, I ain't taking that chance. I can wait.
