would a HID kit trigger a check engine light??Thanks

Chances are it's just coincidental. Could you have accidently disconnected a vacuum line or connection during your installation?

Just for the fun of it, check your gas cap. Did you by any chance recently fill up and not secure it tightly?

It's to bad the trucks don't have the ability to display the specific offending codes on the DIC like Corvettes do...

Hey -- something very similar happened to me when I put in my HIDs on my 2007 Yukon Denali. Turned out to be a vacuum seal that was undone when I took out the factory intake a few days before, and my new Volant intake had a small hole in the tube after the MAF sensor (which I just epoxied, and it's fine now). DIC indicated "Service Traction Control, Service Stabilitrak, Reduced Engine Power". Check engine light went out after a trip to the dealer (I freaked when all the idiot lights came on). In hindsight, not all that happened at the same time, but the computer has some fuzzy logic whereby if it sees small errors for extended periods of time, it will set a code and the check engine light will come on. Not sure if this helps your case, but don't panic; just check your intake again and make sure the breather hose from the main tube is still connected to the valve cover (if your engine has one of these small hoses), and that there aren't any open vacuum ports on the top of the intake manifold (indicating a missing cap). Once you figure it out, disconnect the negative battery lead for 10-15 minutes to clear the code(s). I know we're talking different vehicles here, but I think your issue may be similar.

Hey, i just called onstar and she told me the code was P0335. Which is a crank shaft position code..so im guessing the hids are not the subject here..haha my truck has 6500 miles on it..not sure what could be causing this??thanks
