Boat Owners!

well i've been messing around with my boat a little, i guess you could say sprucin her up a little and i just can't for the life of me get the lower end to look good!! for all you guys with lower end units is yours faded? my boat has about 67 running hours on her and she's definately clean except for the fact that the lower end unit looks like junk ... any ideas on what i could use to clean it up??? i'm gonna try and post some pics tonight after school but if you have any thoughts let me know ...

The lower drive unit definitely will show some corrosion/crud/oxidation, etc. being exposed to the water all the time. We've always used a mild rubbing compound/polish to get that stuff off. Check out the local marine supply stores, they may have some good stuff to use. There's this suff at Overtons.

What about those products designed to cut lime deposits on faucets and sinks? Lime-a- way or CLR maybe... That stuff gets the better part of an aisle at the local super duper market here since our water is like liquid limestone.

 

Anybody tried that?

its not really "buildup" i used to be able to zymol it back to shiny black, but now i can't get the slightest change when i try to clean it up... i'll try and get a pic in the morning
