Can the rear head rest on a 02 ext. cab be removed and put back?

I need it removed so it does not interfere with car seat.

I would assume it would have to be to put those little tv headrests.

Yes, there is a small pinhole in each plastic base of the head rest. Push a paper clip in the pin hole, while lifting that side of the head rest. Once it's lifted a small amount, you can release the paper clip, and insert in the other plastic base, and lift the head rest completely out.

 

Procedure for the front head rests is the same.
