4l60e To 4l80?

I have a 2000 Chevy 1/2 ton with a 5.3 in it now. I've been reading up on to change over the 5.3 to a 6.0 that I have. I was wondering about how difficult it is to change over to the 4L80 transmission and making things work? Or would it be easier to use a built 4L60E or a 4L65 better? I'm in the process of building up the 6.0 with better camshaft, throttle body, cold air, headers and exhaust. Thanks

In a lighter truck you'd appreciate a beefed up 4l60e over a 4l80e. The 4l80e is geared different so you'll loose a little on the acceleration and the 4l80e is a monster as far as weight goes compared to a 4l60e (4l60e=164lbs - 4l80e=255lbs). The rotating mass will hurt the HP reaching the ground too. Unless you towing heavy or going for 1,000hp a 4l80e will be more work than its worth.

Here a link to some pictures to see the size different between the two.
