Denalli Or All Terrian

OK guys need a little input and help here. I am between a denalli 6.2 with a 6 speed ( OMG power) !!!

and a Sierra All Terrain with 6.0 3.73's.

I do hunt during the season and may have to go though a wet field to get to a deer but that is rare. But can still happen. I am not sure if a AWD can handle real mud ya know.

The Denalli have the power and the gas mileage.

The All Terrian has the two tone and real 4x4.

I personally would go for the Sierra All terrain. Ive never been a fan of AWD full size trucks. I never understood why you needed 4x4 at all times. I think you should only use when you need it. The 6.0 is pretty powerful too. I mean yah you get the badass 6 spd but who cares. you'll also save a few grand if you go for the Sierra. This just personal preference though.

I agree, and the 4wd system is much more "stout" then the AWD system. That is why the Denali has less towing capacity than a 6.0 with 4.10's. Even though it has more power. Get the Denali if you want street perfromance and the Sierra if you want all-purpose duty. My 6.0 with 3.73s and the Edge programmer will keep up to a stock Denali. I know, not apples to apples, but just making a point that teh 6.0 has loads of power available too.

Depends on how you define TM. It does not remove or alter TM, but it does improve the throttle lag at launch and upon accleration from a roll, this is technically not TM, it is typically lumped into that category though. It also greatly improves shifting and overall performance is 100 times better. No more "falling on it's face" when accelerating. Launch lag is still there though (Abuse mode). But it is greatly reduced.

Do a search for Edge Evolution, there is tons of info/posts about it.

Vmax do you have any close up pics of the hood deflector on yours ? From what i have seen of the newer trucks the top of the grill is the hood.

Driving like I do, I need AWD pulling away from every stop else I'd be spinning the rear tires all the time. :smash:

6 > 4. :driving:

It will be nice next year when you can get the 6.2 and the 6 speed in the regular trucks, i hope that means that you can also get that setup with the part time 4x4. I bet that will kill the Denalli sales.

I get about 15 mpg in-town driving (city, rush hour stop and go freeway) and about 17.5-18 freeway at 65-70 mph. This is with the Edge. About 1 mpg worse when it was stock.

Don't piss away $2000 for some stupid All-Terrain package!

Those packages are never really "worth" anything either.

Buy a regular GMC Sierra 4x4; not some "hype" pickup
