$149 for the year

No, No, and Hell No!

I agree completely. Definitely not worth the money, to me anyway.

I renewed on the wife's Equinox. Little bit of comfort and already had to use it because she lost her keys at a store :idiot: . Long story short, she set them down on a store counter and another lady picked them up and left the store with them. Good thing the store owner knew the other lady. And no, they were not both blondes

Anyway, little peace of mind but I wish it was cheaper.

I use it.

I use both the cell phone and the "Turn-By-Turn" directions,I actually have the "Directions & Connections" plan.

They work great and have helped me find places I would've never found!

Played w/it a little the first couple of weeks. Made 3 calls, 2 were poor quality, one of those disconnected with a weak signal. 120 minutes remaining on the prepay. I haven't lock my keys in a vehicle in at least 15 years. Email is neat, but nothing I don't already know by staying on top of my vehicle anyway.

I can't imagine being less interested in this feature than I am right now after 2 months of ownership, so 10 mos from now OnStar will have a hard sale to make.

Amen to that, That is why I have roadside with my cellphone, and BOTH Tom Tom and Garmin portable GPS systems, true about the remote unlocking, but I paid the dealership for several extra keys and an extra fob as well

What do you get for $149 per year - does that include cell phone and navigation? The only thing I've used so far is the cell phone feature. Would be nice to keep if they outlaw cell phone handsets while driving here in the Peoples' Republic of Taxachusetts.

I thought they had gone up to around $200/yr. That doesn't include the "C" note for the navagation. I've got a cell phone and a Garmin and enough bills already, thanks.

I've only used the cell phone feature, but after it expires I probably will not renew Onstar. I have never really used it.

I'm planning on seeing how badly they want my money. I am going to tell them I will renew IF they throw in the "Turn-by-Turn" (Directions and Connections) plan. If they refuse, then I say "Thanks, but no thanks". I bet they try to say no but buckle when I hold my ground. Hell, it's almost all profit for the T-B-T anyway.

I had it for about a year after I bought my truck. The biggest benefit from it was peace of mind. I liked having the phone that worked in remote areas but after the end of the year when all analog goes away my OnStar will be inoperable. I got a letter in the mail giving me an additional year free if I buy a 2006 or newer GM vehicle with OnStar so if this happens then I will have 2 years if I get a new ride. I'm not sure if I would renew it if I were paying or not.
