I have a 2003 Yukon... is it possible to add OEM (DL3) powerfolding signal mirrors to my truck? I know I can install them on the vehicle, but does it require a visit to a dealer for flash programming of the mirror controls?

If you price them you will probably change your mind. You will need the additional wiring and switches that are mounted in the driver's door as well. Big $$ for folding mirrors.

All that was needed on my 2003 Suburban was the mirror installation (every easy) and reprogram the body control computer. All wiring was plug and play. The flash was .5 hrs ~$65.00 if I remember correctly. I went from the tow style to the DL3. It restored the power-fold, auto dimming (left side), memory position, and the puddle lights while maintaining the heat and turn signal. Wife did not like the tow style elephant eared mirrors.

I purchased the set of two on Ebay for around $300. Sold the tow style mirrors for $325.

I have folding mirrors on my truck and I folded them exactly once in two years just to see how they work.

Sounds like me, I never use them for anything. Just a nice gadget to have I guess. :nono:

The first day we had our Tahoe, it was dark outside and I was driving along, looked at the passenger mirror to see if I could switch lanes. About 10 seconds later I looked back over and no mirror!! I had apparently bumped the switch with my hand and it folded the mirrors, but since it was dark out, I couldn't tell right away what had happened. I had to pull off the side of the road and get the manual out to see how to flip them back out.

I guess if you use the drive through car washes a lot, they would be okay for me, just not enough to justifiy some huge $$

I fold mine in practically every time I park, you never know when some yahoo is going to bump them getting out of his car.

Our Suburban is kept in the garage and the mirrors are folded in everytime. This allows for ease of walking on either side. Just depends on what you get used to, I guess.
