Getting Real Bent Out Of Shape

k so this all started when i wanted to install an aftermaket head unit in my 07 sierra classic, nevada edition. I have a premium bose system in it currently. well i bought a JVC DVD/CD/MP3/WPA... and a Alpine amp and 2 Kicker Comp subs. I figured i would use my factory speakers but install subs and an amp. I bought a harness installed it, but im constanly having problems, first i kept getting a popping noise, second, i got a high pitch whining noise like a turbo whistle, then my drivers speakers wouldnt work, then my rear speakers wouldnt work, now all of them work but i cant really hear my subs. I bought a PAC adapter from visions, but today i noticed after looking at my factory deck that it has 2 inputs, 1 that has 24 pins, and another that has 12 pins. my adapter only has the 24 pins, i just figured i didnt need the extra 12 pins and put everything together. now im thinking maybe i do need those 12 pins after all. i noticed my low fuel light doesnt come on no matter what, im worried that my oil life monitor wont reset now, i dont have onstar. the seatbelt sound doesnt come on. does anyone have any ideas or what i should do? thanks... or if anyone has done anything like this before please tell me what harness your using, i dont care about the price, i just want everything to work.

Bose uses external amplification in most of their systems. If you are trying to run your speaker level outs into the speakers through the Bose amp, you are probably asking for trouble... adapters or not. Even if you have the adapter to drop the speaker level outputs to line level, it will be noisy.

My suggestion would be to rewire to each speaker with quality wire directly to your new Head unit and amp(s). It's the only sure fire way to get it right and will be well worth the trouble once it's all done.

Just my 2 cents worth...

it sounds like you have all of the wiring wrong, I would plug up the factory systems and take it one step at a time, there is a harness that you need in order to retain the factory chimes, a GM Factory Integration Adapter GM Class II Data bus Interface harness: http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Ite...X6019&tp=75 (Crutchfield). I would also check the connections and grounds.

Shoot man, I just got my system installed by a pro the other day and I'm getting a high pitched whine just like you said, and it matches the acceleration and gear changes. Annoying as shiat. What is that? I will have to take it back to him and have him tell me what it is and fix it. It sounds like a learjet when it first fires up the engines.

all the grounds have been checked, when i cut off the RCA outputs that the adapter came with and conected them like regular speaker wire, the whine went away. the adapter that i have says standard bose and non bose systems. the one for the premium bose comes with the 24 pin and 12 pin connector. ill get the 12+24 pin connector tomorrow and see how it works out. it would suck to take everything apart to hook up the speakers regularly tho.
