Intake Gasket

i have been blowing intake manifold gasket on my 1997 5.7 350..still stock intake any ideas how to fix this problem also any new intake manifold and tbi i can buy and use for everyday use???

Does the gasket blow out or leak in the same spot each time? Where?

Are you using anything on the gaskets before you put them on?

Are you torquing the intake bolts? If you over-tighten the bolts the plastic gaskets will fail. Also, are you sure it's not leaking at the heater fitting at the right front corner.

i have check the torq on bolts,,, good,,,leaking at the rear of intake back right

def. check that heater line on top of the intake, If your going to replace it, 85% that i've done have snaped off and I had to retap the threads. Make sure who ever is installing the gaskey uses some kinda RVT gasket Maker on the corners of the gasket. I know from having to redo one of my own. Not saying this will fix your problem, but just trying to help.

Yea, like extreme77mopar said. Use plenty of RTV on thecorners of the valley gaskets or I have also found it better to not even use the rubber gaskets that come with the kit amd just use some good RTV for the entire gasket. Only do that if you keep having problems.

 

 

Also if you want a new intake and TBI check Ebay for a ebay store called ExtremeFI. I have used some of there products and they are great. They take GM parts and modify them, so they will all fit great, and perform a lot better.
