2008 Silverado Nbs Rear View Camera Install Flash

I have a 2008 Silverado NBS with Factory Navigation without rear video screen.

 

Can I install a rear view camera?

 

I bought a Kenwood camera and took my truck in to get the radio "flashed".

 

The service guy seemed to know what I was talking about but said he could not do it on the 2008 radios. Yet?

 

Does this make sense?

Has anyone done it?

I do have the lockpick module which should make the install easier?

 

Please help

I have not installed it yet. I did hook it up to the lockpick but it would not show up on the factory screen??

My dealer never told me nothing about no stinkin' camera. If so, I would have gotten one. I am acquiring that old timers habit of not turning around before backing. Anyway, the back up alarm may help.

I will look up some information and try to get back to you tomorrow morning with any results that may help, PM me your VIN so I can take a look at what you got installed from the factory to determine what the best route would be.

Here is a LINK to a thread I had several months ago when I installed mine. I have the factory NAV also. Yes, the radio does have to be flashed on the 2007, the 08 should be the same though.
