Tire Pressure On 07 Silverado With Gy 20's

I was curious whats the best tire pressure to maintain on my 07 Silverado with factory 20's and GY tires. The label inside the drivers door states 30 psi cold, that seems low to me.. I am currently running 35 psi cold..

any commets and/or suggestions would be appreciated..

I have been playing around with the tire psi and have found that 36 psi in the summer and 38 psi in the cold have been giving good results with my 07 NBS 1500 2WD. These pressures produce a highway psi of 40 psi. This gives good mpg along with better handling and still gives a comfortable ride in my oppinion.

IMHO at 30 psi it feels like the truck is riding on pillows. Also, if you read the temperature of the surface of the tire with a IR thermometer, at the factory recommended pressure, the outsides of the tread are hotter than the middle. The temps will even out with the increase in psi. I am not a tire engineer but I believe the tire is wearing evenly when the tread temps are even across the profile of the tire. I tried this over a 4 week period and got the best results with 36 psi in the summer.

Been running the GY 20s since 2003 - 35 psi is best to get rid of the squishy ride and have a nice wear pattern.

When pulling a trailer or hauling a load in the bed, bump them up to 40.
