Is There A Heated Steering That Is All Leather?

I have the wood/leather heated wheel with all the cruise/nav/radio contols on my 08 Sierra Denali but would rather have one without the wood.

No, nothing exists, at least not in OEM form. Your only choice would be an aftermarket source, such as american-stitches.com, that take OEM wheels and do custom leather, wood, etc. No all leather heated wheel from GM, in any model with this wheel.

Thank you. The heat is not a big deal to me (don't really need it or heated seats in Texas) but I'd like to preserve all the features the vehicle came with for when I sell it. I'll check with american-stiches and my local trim shop and see if there is something we can do. I really dislike wood steering wheels b/c they are slippery.

I have one that's heated, cooled, and has a built-in ice maker and coffee maker.

Say, that coffee maker, wouldn't happen to have a milk-frother would it?

What is this "heated wheel" you speak of? I live in Alaska and a heated steering wheel would be GREAT!!!! I have never heard of one before, does anyone know if one can be purchased and added onto a 2007 model truck.

Like heated seats there is a heating element in the steering wheel. Denalis and Escalades come standard with them but apparently it's only a combo wood/leather wheel. Many high end luxury cars have it too. You don't mention if your truck is a classic or new style...I'm pretty sure you could do it on new (GMT-900) but I'd guess it would be expensive unless you can find salvage parts. I'm not sure if the GMT-800 Denalis had it, so a swap on a classic might be more difficult.

I have the New Body Style, GMT-900. is there a switch somewhere to turn it on, or is it automatic?

I believe that a heated steering wheel works together with heated seats, which are turned on manually. Somebody correct me if I am wrong on this one. Because heating elements consume considerable amount of current, the clockspring wiring harness is probably different for vehicles equipped with a heated steering wheel. This mod could be so expensive that it is not worth pursuing, IMHO.

The heated wheel is a $100 option on a Denali, not standard.

There is a switch on the left side of the wheel controls, near the cruise control, to turn the heat on and off independent of the heated seats.

Yep, you are correct. I checked my sticker and I paid for it. I checked my order and I ordered it...I guess I felt like it was inexpensive and worth a try when I ordered. I was more focused on leaving off the expensive options I didn't want like the 20" wheels and rear seat DVD.

Heck, I ordered Cargo Management too b/c the price dropped to $95 on the 08. The tie downs are nice and came with it but they really get you on the prices of the add-ons I want, like the side tool box ($180 from a discounter) and the bed divider (about $250). I ordered one side box, it should be here any day.

I used my heated steering wheel for the first time this morning (9 degrees Fahrenheit when I got up!) and I have to admit I was impressed. The only thing I don't get is why do the heated seats come on with the remote start when it's cold, but not the wheel? I don't care, just curious.
