2008 GMC 1500 4x4 Regular Cab Long Bed

I ordered the truck with 6C5 730 CCA battery. Well, after searching around and a trip to the dealer, yes, the factory put in the wrong battery. I got the regular battery. I was turned over to warranty service and yes, I will get a new correct battery. The window sticker states that I should have the optional battery. Fine. I get correct battery.

My next question is, I ordered 7Z1 High Note Horn. The horn sounds exactly the same as every other horn in the dealers lot. No other trucks on lot have the High Note Horn.

My question is: How can I find out if they actually put in the correct horn. I don't have a clue how to check.

If they put in the wrong battery at factory, they could have easily put in wrong horn. What's my next move?

Granted, this is not a big deal. But heck, I paid for this horn.

OK I'll try and explain this and hope I don't confuse you....

If your horn sounded like all the other trucks on the lot then you probably have the correct horns,I say "horns" because on a base level truck (SL) they only come with one low note horn,The "7Z1" option adds the high note horn,So you go from one horn to two horns.

Thank you.

So is it a visual look that can tell the difference? One looks different from the others?

Well its not so much they look different from the others,They look both the same,Its just that you should have two horns instead of one.

I haven't looked for my horns, but according to the parts catalog they should be located on the radiator support, one on the top bottom of each side,The standard low-note horn is on the driver's side, the high-note horn is on the passenger's side.

So now only the high end trucks have two horns? I remember every full size American car and truck having two horns since the 70's.

Work vans have had the dual-note horn as an option for a while now, although I don't know how long it has been.
