Listen, it's getting a little complicated for us techno-impaired folks.

 

 

Is there one main computer module and where is it?

 

I know there are sensors, fuses cab and engine compartment, and modules.

 

Is there one main module? And where is it? Are there other modules?

 

On my 1990 Chevrolet 1500 2WD, I think there is a main module behind the glove box. Are there more on the newer trucks?

there is a ecm(engine control) and a tcm (trans control) both located together in engine compartment on driver side front in the area behind headlights. The small one is the tcm and the larger one the ecm. There is a post somewhere on HOW To remove if you have to.

Probably a BCM too (Body Control Module).

On trucks with the 6L80 (6 speed) transmission, the TCM is located inside the transmission itself.
