Bfg At Or Bridgestone Revos You Make The Call

Lets decide right now which is the better tire, I am looking to buy one or the other in the next 3000 miles for my 06 sierra 1500 crew cab. I bought the truck band new and have put nearly 50000 miles on it and am looking for the next set of tires. Size would be a 265/70/r17. Let me know what you think and if you have any pics of similar trucks with either of these tires i would love to see them. Also and concern with drop in fuel milage with either of these tires

They are both great tires.

But if it were my decision, Id get the REVOs due to how quiet and smooth they are. The Bridgestones are better on the road and great in wet weather.

The BFGs wear better, are more popular, and should perform better off-road. They are also more expensive.

It really depends on how you use your truck.

I am in the same situation as you, and plan to get the same size you listed. I had planned on getting the REVOs but I found a great deal on E-bay on some Nitto Terra Grapplers. So I will get those but when they wear out Ill most likely get the Bridgestones.

The REVO is a pretty good tire, but hands down I'd go with the BFGs.

They are tougher, longer lasting, better off road, and will just about go anywhere. The only edge the Revos have is a little bit better ride comfort. The BFGs do ride a little stiff and make a little noise once they get a little wear on them but I've gotten over 60,000 miles out of each set. (and they were still good enough to go on the hunting rig) Considering that, they are not any more expensive than any other tire in the long run.

I had the revo's on my truck before my current tires, and wasn't overly impressed. Granted, I never had them new (I bought my truck used with about 20,000 miles on the tires), but I only ended up getting a total of 34,000 miles out of them. They were quiet, performed well on dry pavement and in the snow, but were not very good offroad, and once they wore down they SUCKED in the rain. Like, really really sucked. Bad.

I seem to be the odd one out when it comes to these tires. Everyone else I've talked to loves them, so go figure.

all my miles are hwy for work as you could no doubt guess by me having an 06 truck with 50g's on it. I live in wisconsin where snow is an issue (22 inches in last 2 weeks) and heard the bfg's are not the great in the snow. I still like the look of the bfg better but my main concerns are tire where and noise I want to atlest get 50000 out of whatever i put on

I have always loved the BFGs but they are a little noisy. I have a set of Pirelli Scorpion ATRs on my new truck... I thought low profile 20 inch AT KOs would look pretty silly.

You might think I am nuts but go have a look at these. I have a set on my Jeep and I could not be happier with them. Look at their ratings... NOT BAD! Especially in ice and snow. They run 119 bucks where the BFGs and REVOS are 180-200 (big time expensive). Firestone Destination AT

Here is a chart of different brands in your size... Pretty interesting. TIRE RATING CHART

I put 40,000 on a set on my Dodge (the goodyears that came with the truck lasted 28,000) and when I traded the truck in there was still alot of tread left. I do primarily highway driving and they are a great tire. I was inbetween the BFG and REVO's and never regretted the REVO's. We do not get alot of snow in NJ but I drove in it when it came and never had a problem.

Hope this helps.

i too have had both; and think the bridgestone is softer and quieter but not as strong as the BFG. however my duelers did not last very long; about 35000 miles and started to bounce and roar. now that 95% of all my miles come from the hwy; i switched to MICHELIN LTX; a little more money; about 10-15% but the ride is much better and actually picked up about 1MPG. I really like the looks of the BFG ALL TERRAIN out of all of them though

That's a tough one, I like the Revo's....... I had the BFG's on my old ZR2 with no complaints. The good thing is that you have some great options.

I don't know if you have a 4x4 but you should roll on some 285/70-17's .... :D

Owned both the Revos and BFGs over the past few years. The BFGs are much better than the craptastic Bridgestones.

I recommend BFG's hands down. Thats all I put on my trucks. I think they are a great tire. I put about 50K-60K a year on my truck so I do alot of highway driving plus I work in the oil patch so the truck takes a beating on some lease roads. These BFG's proved to be an all around great tire. Excellent in snow and mud, great on dirt roads and pretty quiet for a tire with such an aggressive tread. I have found life span to be about 80k and they are not the best at driving high speeds in the rain. But over all a great tire and I definitely recommend it. I have the BFG Allterrain K/O's 285 70 17's.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't comparing the bfg's with the revos slightly skewed? Comparing the the bfg's to the dueller at NON revo's would make more sense, since the revos are a less agressive version of the dueller. That said, I'm happy with my revo's, I've had them about 6000k and have had next to no wear. My next tire will be a MT cause theyre snow rated, more than capable, and look mean, but thats not for another couple years...

I have about 25K on my Revos right now and I think they are a great tire. The tread is down to about 60% left so I should get 50K out of them easily. Quiet on the freeway and are great in the rain (important in Washington State :dunno: ) Mine are the P-metric version so the ride is probably softer than the LT version.

When I was looking to replace the Wilderness AT's that came on the truck (I had visions of my truck going "Ford Exploder" on me with the "Firestone Wilderness AT tires of exploding death" even though they weren't in the recall) I wound up going to Costco for them as they had a $80 instant rebate coupon available. I got my Revo's mounted and balanced for $410

I looked at the Michlein LTX, BFG and Yokohamas but the consensus here at that time was that the Revo's were the best deal by far. I'm very satisfied!
