spayne67 Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 I have a 2003 K3500 Silverado with the Duramax/Allison combo. Lately when I have started the engine in the morning, I get a clickiing noise coming from the engine department, sometimes this happens a couple of times as I turn the key then the engine starts up; but the clock has reset to 12:00. Does anyone have an idea what is causing this?
carneyman Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Sounds to me like you have a loose battery connection. Is it the sound a car makes when the battery is dead and you try to start it?
spayne67 Posted December 28, 2007 Author Posted December 28, 2007 Both Battery connections on both batteries are good.
Nice rig Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Disconnect your battery terminals and make sure the connections are clean of dirt and corrosion, maybe check the connection to the starter.
vtxretro02 Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 A friend of mine with an 03 had the exact same issue as you are having and it turned out to be the starter. Hope this helps.... Good Luck...
