P1631c Antitheft Device?

This code comes up on the scanner when plugged into the vehicle. Not sure why it is doing it, but it won't allow the vehicle to start. I put the key into the ignition and turn the key, the car will turn over but will not start. Also, the "PCM/ IPC password" comes up....... not sure what that means.

 

 

Anyone..... please help.

 

The scanner used was a Matco..... it is a friends, not mine.

Well I am having this problem at work, my guess is a broken wire somewhere.

 

If you havent touched anything lately, clean out your connectors on the PCM. does the light come on when the door is open & does it turn off when doors closed? if not then theirs a bad connection or broken wire...or your a thief, lol

 

I printed out about 15 pages for the passlock system but left them at work, it gives you everything to check, but you'll need a scanner for some parts

well certainly not a thief...lol....

 

a few years ago i had a remote start alarm installed in the truck. but it was giving me issues with starting properly, so i unplugged it and went back to the stock remote. i had the stereo shop uninstall the remote starter properly. i think this may have something to do with it. but i am not very familiar with all the wiring on the truck and didn't want to start tinkering with things. so if you have some sort of info as to which wire it may be, or how to disarm the code with the scanner, it would be much appreciated.

 

The truck doesn't do it all the time. so there isn't a broken wire. actually wometimes is can go all day starting the truck and doing everything i need to do. then there are some days i go to start nd it won't..... so i let it sit and come back to it, and then it starts. i can get a scanner i just need the info how to fix it.
