Older 3/4 Ton Axle Shafts.

My son has brought home a '79 GMC K2500 with the Corporate 10-bolt front axle.

 

Both axle shafts are broken at the u-joints.

 

I have a set of Dana 44 axle shafts from a 1978 3/4 ton truck, and I was wondering if these axles will work in the Corporate housing?

 

Has anyone swapped these axles? Is the length the same from the 10-bolt to the 44-8F? Are the splines the same?

 

It's odd that I still have these. LOL! I wisend up and went to a Dana 60 in the front 15 years ago!

Might be time to start the search for a Dana 60 instead.

I doubt it will, as different axles tend to use different diameter axle shafts, especially in different brands. Best thing I can offer is try measuring both for length and diameter and if they're close (like within 1/16") it may work.
