Its My Wifes Turn

She was leaving for work this morning, stopped to get her hat out of my truck. She unlocked the door with my spare key and left it in the door as she opened it to get her hat. That key is connected to a key chain with enough stuff on it that it has to weigh 5lbs. including a 6in forged iron leaf thing that she jokes about using for self defense. I could hear the whole ensamble smacking against the side of the truck from inside my house. I'm afraid to go out and look at it. My wife is a smart enough person(she's an RN)but I wish she would just use her head!

d**n that sucks!! my Mrs is an RN as well in the ICU/ER - I bet most will buff out...but if not trying a find a place that does minor body work. I know we have a few here in FL that do little spray jobs like that and dent removal etc...

That sucks man, my wife is an RN also, some woman have no clue about the love affair men have with their trucks. When I first met my wife she was washing her car (I'm a fanatic about washing....the water coming out of the spigot is filtered and tempered, lol) she dropped her sponge on the ground, then picked it up and washed her car with it!!!!!

Hope your scratches buff out, I'd be upset.

You think that's bad? When I was having my wheels mounted at a Tire Barn, the friggin' moron from the front walked back, put my keys in the door, opened it, sat down a work order and slammed my door with my keys still in there. I could here it through the glass and across the shop. *Enter Livid Mode* I walked directly back there, grabbed the guy and had him walk back over to my truck. Long story short, there was a very intimate conversation about how unacceptable that was. Of all places, a joint where guys go to put nice shiny rims on their nice shiny vehicles should be the one place you'd expect some respect for your vehicle. Anyway, I had one small, very small, nick that I have buffed out with some 3M super-fine cut but it was still more than enough to never go back. Why don't people care? Anyway, sorry about my rant. Sorry to hear about your truck. Hopefully it'll not be that bad. I don't carry an anvil on my key chain like your wife but I do have a fairly loaded one myself.

yeah stuff like that happens. My mom is a RN & has a Mercedes, she surprizingly takes care of it though. Doesn't wash it or do anything, just takes it in for maintainence in time lol.

When I got my exhaust installed I think the guy scraped my truck a little on the left rear fender below the 4x4 decal. Was a tight fitting garage so I think he wasn't looking and he let a pipe go across it, no real visible damage just a couple white lines. Either that or someone keyed it a little, but if someones gonna key a vehicle I dont know why they would only do 1" lol

Well there were a couple of real fine scratches that I was able to buff out. Now, a whole 7 days later she ran my $475 cell phone through the washing machine. Where does it end? :(

On a side note, are GM truck owners RN magnets? My wife is an RN as well...Anyway, my truck had a few scratches on her when I got her, so if I put one more, I'm sure it won't hurt as bad...still hurt, though. I agree with BLK, you may have a little leverage in the future!

Thats funny,My wife is a RN also.Maybe we should have a poll or something. The keys are bad,but two weeks ago my wife takes my truck out to drop off one off one of our boys for a church trip and on her way home she hits what she said was a dog going 35 mph.Brand new truck with less than 4000 miles on it.Busted the front end up pretty good. It spent 4 days in the body shop. :(

My wife (RN also) once asked me to check out a car we had at the time, Crown Vic, old cop car, anyway she said it was making a funny noise in the engine. Cranked it up and you could hear every lifter. 5 qts low on oil! She doesn't drive my truck. :(

May I suggest focusing on the positives? At least your phone is clean now, right? :D

Sorry, I couldn't resist! By the way, I've got one of "those" wives, too. When she pulls a stunt like that, I have to keep reminding myself that homicide is still illegal...

Always remember,

If you love your wife, and she loves you and she screws up, it was a mistake, always forgive her.

If you love your wife and she does not love you back, well you can be angry about it

If you don't love your wife and she loves you, then work on it!!

If you don't love your wife and she does not love you, what on earth are you doing!?

haha, Yeah I gave my wife a hard time for washing cloths with stuff in the pockets and she replied that she just does laundry. Checking pockets wasnt part of the job. I assured her that it is her job. It may be something that I left in my pockets and I can remember most of the time but I told her that it takes two to make everything go right! Team effort! Nothing had been washed since than!
