Turn Signal Mirrors

I have a NNBS 2007 Silverado LT with the dual power heated mirrors. How easy would it be to upgrade them to the mirrors that have the LED turn signals in them?

Also, are the heated mirrors automatic? I don't have a switch for them.

Mine is an '07 NBS Sierra... so it may be a little different from the Silverado... not sure.

I have heated mirrors WITH the LEDS already in them. My heated mirrors are activated via/along with the rear-window defogger switch on the HVAC console. I have the fancy-shmancy dual digital automatic AC controls. On that console, the switch is located along the bottom row of switches, second from the left, if memory serves.

As far as ugrading, I assume that, given you have the heated mirrors already, that the harness and connections are already in place, albeit you have a few wires that aren't connected to activate the LED turn signal function....

If this is indeed the case, I would assume that the "upgrade" isn't a terribly big deal. I have seen ads from MUTH Mirror Systems in magazines like "Motor Trend" (www.muthco.com) that appear to advertise the exact mirrors that appear to be on my truck.

Here's a link to the installation directions from, what I think is the correct mirror.. http://www.muthco.com/techsupport/pdfs/21001330.pdf

My advice would be to contact Muth, and ask them, as they would have a heck of a lot more expertise on this particular question than I do.

Hope this helps....

It's not exactly plug and play....try doing a search it has been discussed at length here. I remember reading about it and then chickening out and decided not to do it.

I did what you are asking about. The new mirrors have two plugs, the old ones only have one. Installed the new mirrors and only plugged in to the original plug (couldn't find a plug for the other). Turn signals worked just fine, heater still works too. I assume the second plug is for the puddle light.

Do you have any way of testing the power fold feature? Guessing it would take a new door panel and switch cluster to test though. That's the main reason I would have for upgrading.

I didn't think they were power folding, and I don't have a switch for it even if they were. Maybe that is why the second plug is so much bigger. :sigh:
