Rear Sway Bar On Nbs

Hi guys, I have poseted a few times here but I have mostly been an observer of the awesome info here, so thanks! :D My question is, does anyone here have a rear sway bar on their NBS GMT 900 Silverado? My truck handles like a pig around the corners and I know it's not a sports car but I think there is room for imporvement. I also tow a bass boat so I would think a sway bar would help me in towing as well. I have seen a few aftermarket kits but no GM factory parts. Was one available as a factory option?

Thanks!

Hellwig rear sway bar - do a search - i have commented on them in the past - a good investment ..

Thanks, I'll check it out. I saw your post on 2wd Suspension, which is were I should have looked first. :D

A swaybar will not do you much good on the rear of a pickup unless you haul alot of heavy loads, SUV's are differant due to them being a little top heavy and it helps control the body lean around corners and thats all they do. Pickups dont lean in the rear much if any going around corners so I say you would be just wasting your money.

i do own a 2007 GMT900 crew cab who have experience with / without a rear sway bar ..

before sway bar - i did have body roll and it did lean-out while going into the corners

i still have those sysmptoms but they have been greatly reduced - i dont expect my truck to handle the curves like a 96 vette .. :-))

i am happy with it - to each their own ..

I agree with you. I did the Hellwig front/rear to my '00 Silverado. Combination was a night/day difference. It does handle about the same as our '03 Acura CL (with sport sways on it). I'd recommend doing the front at the same time, as it stiffens the front up about 25% over what you have now. And when I was swapping the one in my NBS Sierra, the front endlinks are plastic (which seems odd....) I do notice that the NBS does have a lot less body roll than the classic style though.

I beg to differ. A helwig sway bar has done wonders for my 2005 ext cab Sierra. I drive 32 miles one way on a 2 lane very twisty road and the sway bar made a world of difference.

Just an opinion from some one who has actual experence,

Do you have any experience with anti-sway bars. You're just making a blank statement, and have no facts at all. Rear anti sway bars help a lot.
