hello guys i just came back from austin tx im originally from mcallen tx its a 5 and half drive one thing i can tell you it did not give me good mileage at all i filled up 2 full tanks d**n thaqt active fuel management just plain sukz its no good when it get into v4 mode i noticed that when i put in cruise control im going 75 it goes into v4 the trucks seems to slow down but yet its on 75 and i cant tell because all the cars are passing me now when it gets back into v8 in a weird way i catch up to them and these are normal driving ppl on the highway that are doing the same speed limit as me also that v4 mode would not stay on for much it was more on v8 mode so i really dont know the purpose of this all i know im very unsatisfied with the truck and i barely have 2 months with it im sorry to say this but ford does better in mileage!!! my buddy has one a king ranch 4x4 he made it with a lil more than a half tank i was wondering is there something wrong with my truck also i wanted to add when iw as ina ustin i did not move around much just went to a job site and back to my hometown i did not get lost or wasted anytime just so you all know thanks

CHEVY SUKZ IM GOING WITH A ROUSH STAGE 3 INSTEAD IT GIVES THE SAME MILEAGE BUT HAS MORE BALLS

:dunno: Good job there Sparky. Maybe those folks at Ford can teach you to write an intelligent sentence.

I have a very hard time believing a F150 will get there on a half a tank compared to you using 2 tanks. 5.5 hours of 75 mph is 412.5 miles. Half a 25 gallon tank (ford) would be 12.5 gallons, which means your Ford buddy netted 33 mpg...BS.

wrong buddy its 310 miles 412 miles is like going to beaumont tx from mcallen "my home" almost hitting the border of louisiana well dad has a ford 2002 ext cab he made to san antonio with less than have a tank so yeah i know im right but since this a gm site some folks cant admit or accept that ford also not that fat from chevy so do some more research lmb on your navigation!!!! also going 412.5 at 75mph you cant make itin 5.5 hrs its almost around 7 hrs depending on truck unless you have a heavily modified truck haha not even like that you'll get there trust me with the traffic its impossible i travel alot i check for everything miles ,mpg and speed so thats why im telling you that your wrong!!!!:dunno::)

to make long story short a ford f-150 roush 3 will give the same mileage as my truck "chevy" but except for one thing that ford has more balls than my chevy i only have a stock 5.3 that roush a supercharger and several other mods so just think for a moment and compare!!! i understand this is a gm site but im only saying what is true what you chevy ppl can take the truth and you very well the new nbs chevys are gas guzzlers the old chevys were better but oh well gm is getting dumber and dumber as years go by just take for example the active fuel management does not work at all!!! i know you have a chevy just pay attention to it when you traveling youll see what im talking about active fuel management is just a i dont know what the hell gm was thinking seriously also that e85 another big mistake i went to the dealer they are doing some kind of recall about the power steering leaking and the front suspension that has something to do with vibration also the dashboards on all gm vechicles are cracking near the passenger airbag within a year it will start to crack but yeah those are some of the few but oh well gm is not perfect niether is ford but you gotta understand that ford has its up and downs and chevy as well to :dunno::lol::lol:

I would say that if you cannot afford the fuel, then you should not have purchased a truck.

It will never get great mileage compared to a Honda car and you never mentioned the mileage you got but I too would like to see something closer to the 20 on the window sticker.

my mileage was 18-19 at the most yeah but i did not know it was gonna be that bad with gas my other 05 chevy crew cab did better and it had 20's and stock with a 5.3 and i traded it for the 08 then i put some lil stuff on my old chevy like a hp tune flow exhaust cold air intake and it gave me an increase i guess maybe i have to do that to this one but you know what really caught my attention was that active fuel management so iw as like hmmm it will be like in honda mode then when i go traveling and well i work in houston i live in mcallen tx its a 7 hr drive and me thinking it was gonna save me gas i used up 2 tanks going to and leaving from austin thats ridiculous man that active fuel management did not engage at all while iw as driving it would just be on for like 2-3 mins and then it would go back to v8 mode ima get a tune volant intake and a corsa exhaust maybe that will help it a lil more i guess if not well then i dont know im screwed i was saying in another post that my buddy has a king ranch f150 crew cab 4x4 he made it with 1 tank to and from austin same place and we both live close to each other so whats the diffirence he has an 07 i was like wtf d**n its only a 5 hr drive tops about 305 miles and there was no heavy traffic but it was wet and cold as hell though so i dont know if these weather conditions affect my truck all i know is was very unsatisfied im a chevy fan ford suks lol i dont know i feel kinda sad about my truck i thought it would do better than a crappy ford but oh well i was wrong :troll::troll::troll::dunno::lol::):D

Holy $hit!!! I can't read this much of a run-on sentence without getting a major headache!!!

Whitechevy, so what MPG is it your buddy is getting with his King Ranch?!? If you're claiming he's beating your 18-19 MPG, then this is a B.S. thread! :)

Has anyone thought the gear ratio on the Ford may be higher than the Chevy? If you have a 4.10 gear ratio and are doing 75 down the interstate of course the truck is going to eat gas. Welcome to the crowd. Now go compare the towing capabilities of both trucks and we'll see where the Ford falls short. If you wanted a daily driver that gets good gas miledge go back and smack your salesman and get something with a higher gear ratio. Just something to check, because I sure don't get the gas miledge with my 4.10 gears that others do (~16-17 mpg highway), but I bought my truck to tow.
