Oil Reset Issue

Just changed my oil in my 01 Suburban. My oil light won't reset like it usually does - I have tried several times (turn key to run without starting the engine, stomp on pedal 3 times quickly, watch the change oil blink for a bit, watch battery light go on, then turn key off). I still get my "change oil" light when I start the burb. Vehicle has 67K on it and had never had this problem before. Any ideas?

GM says press and release pedal three times slowly within 5 seconds.

They don't say "stomp .... quickly".
