:)

I have an '03 Silverado 4x4, 1/2T rated 3/4T, LS.

4.8L(305?), 3 speed Auto with Cruise Control.

It is set to go no lower than 25mph, can this be changed,? to infinity?

At least no lower than 5mph? :dunno:

That's weird. My '92 wouldn't go lower than 25 either. My '02 would go down to about 10-15. Haven't checked my current trucks.

Yeah, I remember that from reading the service manual awhile ago. It was like that in my previous GM vehicles. Perhaps a "safety" feature?

In fact, I just found the section in the on-line manual.

With cruise control, you can maintain a speed of about

25 mph (40 km/h) or more without keeping your foot

on the accelerator. This can really help on long

trips. Cruise control does not work at speeds below

about 25 mph (40 km/h).

Naaw....On my PT job, I have a motor route for the local paper and it would come in handy..at times.

I'd figure 5mph as a safety limit, even 10 wouldn't be bad.

How quickly would a truck take prolonged slow driving, before it showed detrimental effects?

Like Wingnuts '02, it most likely, been programed that way. Some reason it seems, the engineers changed it.

Mine is hit or miss if you try to activate it below 35 MPH. You have to set it several times to get it to "take". Anything over that is fine. There is a section of road near a local school that is about 2 miles long (with a 35 MPH speed limit) and cops are always there. I try to use the cruise there to keep from having an unpleasant roadside meeting.

Wow...We have a section here in Pa. like that, 4lane with center, turn left, but even there its 25mph, our local schools require 15.

I wonder why the large variance in cruise control?

Here's hoping our Packers win!

Yeah GO BRETT!

The road I am talking about is 50 MPH except near a High School where it is 35 for wat too long. Regular school zones are typically 20 MPH here.
