I would never black out the only thing that tells the idiot behind me that I am about to stop... no matter how cool it looked.

My brother got his Sliverados tail lights blacked out by the custom car shop in our area. They look ok. I would just rather have the person behind me see my tail lights.

sry i prob used the wrong word, i dont want to completly black them out, just have em smoked. cuz i have a black truck, so having giant silver/yellow lights kinda throws it off... just want them to blend a little more.

k i googled it and found this site, now i know it is like a lazy version of doing it... but basically its described as window tint, (but different)... so its like a big tint sticker (custom for every vehichle) for your head lights/tail lights/fog lights. www.headlightarmor.com is the site, for 07-08 silverado its 60$ for tail lights, and 70 for headlight/fog light combo. and they are available in 50%, 30%, and 20% smoke options... any one heard of this? it sounds a little bit ghetto... but for some reason it sounds like it would work and look decent... if you do a good job putting it on lol...

I myself would like to "tone down" the redness of the rear taillights on my black 07 NBS.. The plastic is a bit too bright in my opinion. Nothing drastic, just a little darker is all...

I would really like to do this to my taillights too. Just a very light tint to blend things in a little better. I'm not sure how the tinted headlights would look. If anybody gets this done I would love to see what it looks like on the 07's and how you do it. Anybody know where you can find any type of laws about this?

yeah thats another thing i was gonna ask, is the laws on it. tail lights you can prob get away with, i saw a guy today in a civic with totally blacked out ones... like comletely black. and that site i saw is stick on stuff, so i mean, i guess you could always take it off. and i would prob do 20% on the tail lights (since the red is pretty aggressive) and 50% on the head lights... would prob look sick.

heres the link to that site i mentioned, right to the stuff for 07/08 silverado. they have pics and stuff to..

no thank you! None of that gay looking euro lights stuff.. Don't want the LEDs there either.. I might put LEDs in the license plate light or the top center brake light, but that would be it for exterrior LEDs..

Ive seen a lot of them on E-bay. But they are so cheap compared to the namebrands (TYC,...)

makes me wonder how they will hold up.

But since my truck is white, I am considering going inn the opposite direction of yall and getting pure clear taillights...off e-bay.

I think the black ones look good, just not dark enough to be a saftey hazard.

Testor's model window tint and duplicolor clear. Some time and effort and 1000x better. Its not that difficult, just time consuming. You could probably have a body shop do them for half the cost of a new set of lights. IMHO headlights would look very bad tinted. I cleared mine by taking the reflector out and putting in Silverstar bulbs in place of the amber ones.
