Gauge Cluster Question

Will a gauge cluster from a 2001 2500 work in my 2000 1500? I thought I heard that 99-00 were diffrent than 01-02. Then I know that 03 & up is diffrent.

Iv'e heard the 99 is different, can't remember what. somethime about a light flashing and will not turn off if you use other years. 01 may work in 2000. Maybe someone with a better memory will know.

Ajent orange is kicking in today, unusually grumpy.
