4l60e Swap

I have a 2000 Silverado. My original 4L60E went out and I replaced it with a used one. After installation the gear indicator on the dash did not work correctly. R D and 2 are the only gears that light up. How can I fix this?

replace the switch thats on the dvr's side of the transmission on the shifter shaft,clean any sealer that is around the connector,leave the tab on the switch ,is for adjusting ,take old one off in neutral,sand burrs off of shaft with sand paper,do not hit switch when installing
