Airaid Intake Tube

Just got done installing my airaid intake tube, installation was fairly straight foreward, remove stock octopus intake tube-install airaid intake tube. I haven't driven it yet but I'm sure it will sound better and should have better throttle response.

I have also just installed the Airaid Jr kit and the install was easy. HOWEVER, I can not tell any difference in MPG, throttle response or noise level. It has been in for two weeks. I have a 5.3L Oh well..............

same results here. I installed the Airraid JR. Kit on my 05, no real improvement in MPG or HP, but i know the truck must be breathing better with their synthaflow filter. What is nice, if you ever want to upgrade, you can get the CAD design to finish the open cone intake.

I installed just the airtube, for $100 i figured i would give it a try, the truck does seem to have a bit more power and now it has a little more growl to it. :tear:

Try the Air Rail Throttle body spacer then you might notice a difference just ordered one for my Sierra Denali... $96.00. I'll let you know what I think when I get er put on...

Throttle body spacers do nothing on the newer motors. They worked to TBI motors, but on motors with computer controlled fuel injection, they don't do a thing.

Nice truck, by the way!

I have researched many after market "air raid" systems and have seen all products used on a dyno, there is no difference in MPG or HP, only diffrence is in HP at 4800-5200 RPM's and I don't think anyone will be running at those RPM's unless your racing. Save the money and just buy a K&N filter

I was planning on buying the airaid tube only but I have one question that hopefully someone will be able to help me with. My truck has the 5.3 with AFM. Will this tube change the way the engine sounds when the engine switches to 4-cyl mode? I have the stock exhaust and don't plan on changing it at all. Thanks.

I have the airaid tube w/ afm. Just the tube, afm, and stock exhaust will not sound different when it enters 4 cylinder mode.

I have the Airaid Modular Intake Tube and a K&N drop-in. There's really no appreciable gain in HP or MPG but it really does have a nice growl to it now.
