Door Handle Not Working

today i went to open my pas sside door on my 88 c1500 with no power lock options and it wouldent work . so i poped off panal and found a l shaped rod with yellow paint on one end laying inside door . now my qustion is how do i get to inside of door window is in way to reattach rod and how dose it attach looks like some kind of cotter pin notch on the rod i have .

 

 

thanks also door works from inside im due for inspection so i need to get door fixed asap.

I recently had a similar issue. My inside door handle would not open the door. After the door panel is off there are two bolts that hold the outside handle on. Remove them and the outside handle comes off. From here you have pretty good access to the workings and can re-install the rod.

ok i did door handle fix but now my door locks from inside but if i put key in on out side lock it wont lock or unlock the lock rods are on is it possable to flip the lock around on the handle its self to were it wont work?
