Just Got In A Reck

so i was on my way to pick up my girlfriend this morning and it had just rained so i was driving slow. i had just made a turn onto a new road and was starting to slowly accelerate when this ford explorer flies around and was going to take out the front of my truck when he got back into the correct lane(it is a 2 lane road that your not suposed to pass on). So to avoid from being hit i slamed on the breaks and turned to keep him from hitting me. when i try to correct i start skidding and slid into a telephone pole.

nearly all the damage was to the bed with just a little at where the cab conects to bed.

but i am bositive it would cost more to fix the bed then to just get a new one so thats where the kind people of this forum come in.

i have looked with very little success for a new bed. I have a 2000 chevy 1500 silverado extended cab. its black with the copperish silver undertone. i not to picky on the color but i would prefere a balck one or even if its possible one with the two tone. but any color will do.

If you have any clue on where i can get a new bed i would really apperitiate it. I live in Huntsville Alabama, 35763 but if its possible getting it shiped is fine.

thanks!

Look up a shop that does switch overs to utility beds, we have some around here and I have seen truck beds sitting in there yard where they have taken off a regular bed and put a utility bed on for the customers or your other option is a salvage, junk yard.

If I'm not mistaken, someone is selling one in the for sale section of the site.

WOW... Man that really bites.

Try Car-Part.com and do a local state search. That place has a lot of seller listing stuff. Good luck.

There are places that do specialize in used beds.

I am not near you, but I have seen places that literally have hundreds of used beds.

Then there is salvage yards. Harder to find nowadays as the envronmentalists don't like them. Many do take off beds and put in racks for storage/sale.

I am sure each state has one or two large salvage yards usually in the country where land is cheaper.

I saw one in Pennsylvania off freeway on side of hill that must have had 2,000 cars/trucks scattered about.

In Phoenix, there are a few that are really organized and dismantle everything and all parts on computer. The parts are listed on the computer.

So your state must have one someplace. Most salvage yards are connected in some way and they can do a search.

Good Luck.
