GM now offers $3000 cash back thru Feb 29th. I purchased my truck just last Monday and got $2000 cash back.

 

I wish my salesman would have told me this was coming up. I would have sure waited a week for an extra $1000.

Don't be too bummed and enjoy your new truuck. Dealers really don't know what the incentives will be from one month to the next. This is a closely guarded secret. The sting of "losing" the $1000 will quickly pass but the enjoyment of your truck will last for years!

Yep, I'd be bummed too. However, think of the poor schmuk, ME, who bought a house two years ago, waited a year while it was being built, and moved in at the start of the housing bust. So far, I've lost about $150,000K

I hear ya Lou - Me and the Mrs were in the middle of building our new house last year and we ran into som many issues with quality and codes that we ended up suiing the builder and getting all our money back and out of the contract which is good because the same house now sells for 134,000 LESS!! so we used the money and put in whole new kitchens and Baths in the current house - but I feel for ya!

I bought my truck last month and got the $2000 rebate but they also had a $1000 GM loyalty rebate and $2000 top off on my GM card, so in all i got $5000 right off the top.

I hear ya, I bought mine a week ago today, I was bummed when I first heard about it. Oh well, could be worse, at least we got them!

I ordered a new Sierra 1500 Crew last thursday 2/7 and at that time there was a $2000 rebate but my dealer told me that another $1000 was going to be added soon. I really hope my truck comes while the $3000 rebate is in effect. Thats a lot of money to loose.

I am no expert in this matter.

 

I was told by my salesman, that if a rebate was close to my purchase, they would hold the truck for delivery to provide me with the better rebate.

 

I do think that someone at the dealership knows a little ahead of time what the rebates will be. That is the impression I received in talking with the dealership sales manager as he hinted that when my ordered truck arrived that rebates would be better - than the one available the day I ordered truck - and he was correct. So was he guessing? Or did he know?

 

I guess it's water over the dam now.

 

The good part is that you got a new truck.

 

I just washed mine today and it looks great! Some day I am going to read up on all the stations available on XM and do a complete preset of stations.

Certain members of Dealership Management do know what to expect from GM rebates. They know if rebates will go up or down in a week or two...believe me.

 

Ever notice how every General Manager has a fax machine in their office...directly linked to GM...do the math.

 

I've worked for auto dealerships, mainly GM ones, sine 1990. I've learned quite a few things...

GM is offering huge rebates through the end of the month. Also, if you get the GM Supplier Discount, they are offering another $1000 on top of the discount plus the rebates.
