yup heres one pic of "mellow" as we all call it, cause its a mellow yellow color. And with my 7.4 yeah shes alot of fun, i can spank hemi pickups and the import trucks, i havn`t raced the new toyota but i will this summer, i don`t drive it very much it only has 97k kms on it (just under 60k miles?) so its my tweaker, with some approval here she`ll get a working over this spring!!

Hi CDOG,

I would love to know some of the modifications you made to the big block. I have a 1988 Sierra step side 4x4 which I have fitted the 7.4 litre and 4L80E tranny from a '91 K3500. I ran dual 2 1/2" exhaust (minus the converters) and a larger drive shaft but that is really the only modification to it. I drove it for a couple of years but have since placed in the garage as the truck itself was getting a little tired and needed some attention. I absolutely loved the torque of this monster. I was able to drive accross the island, which has plenty of hills, and the truck never shifted out of overdrive. I also towed a tandem u-haul trailer and the truck never knew it was there. The bonus part of it was that the gas mileage wasn't any worse than that of the original 305. Some of the items I had considered for the engine was the change from throttle body injection to direct injection - a package offered by edlebrock and I had done some checking into a supercharger for this engine. I would be interested in hearing what you have done and intend to do to yours. By the way the '51 is a beauty.
