Edge Fusion?

I went to see if there were any new updates for my Edge Evolution today and it said there was an update available for the Lightening 3 Program. Little did I know it was going to replace the Lightening 3 with a new program called Fusion!

 

I really don't care for the Fusion program either, all it does is perform an update, and nother more. No longer do I have the option of which flash screen I want (I had the truck doing the brn-out), and I can no longer choose to try a beta version of the tunes. It just downloads the update and kicks you to the curb!

 

It also makes you register to use the program and before you can use it, it e-mails you a password. And, you don't have the option to change it to something easier either, so I guess if I loose it I'm SOL and have to have another e-mailed to me, but a hassle! The e-mail thing is iffy too. At first I registered using my Gmail account, and never recieved a password. I had to re-register using my bellsouth account, and the e-mail came right away, so if you have a Gmail account, be forewarned!

 

Anyway, anyone else get suckered into the upgrade? What do you think?

i didnt have any issues with it ,,, i already updated to Fusion about a month ago - plus updated to new program on the 15th Feb ..

I updated mine to Fusion, then boxed it up and shipped it to it's new owner.

 

Never looked back and I am grateful I only lost $50 on that thing.

I guess I was just used to the Lightening 3 program. I'm still a bit miffed I don't have the pickup doing the burn-out as my flash screen anymore!

They probably eliminated that because it was misleading/false advertising. Doing a burnout in a GMT900 is impossible unless the Nannies get the "axe". Edge refuses to touch the Nannies, so no burnouts for an Edge-tuned truck.

It also could be as simple as they needed the storage space. There is limited storage in most of these units. An animated screen takes up quite a bit of storage. They may have eliminated it to make room for the new programming. Just 2 cents worth from a software QA guy.
