Power Mirrors

Just purchased a 99 GMC Sierra 1500 Z-71 ext. cab. Got a 148K but seems to be in like new condition. Power mirrors don't seem to always want to work. It's like the switch is not always making connection. Any ideas?

I actually have a similar problem. I'm curious to see what people have to say...

I have a 98 sierra that has close to the same issue--the mirrors only work in one direction and then intermittantly. Does anyone have any input?

There's not much to the entire system....switch, motors, wiring. If you're having issues regardless of the mirror selected I'd say replace the switch. If you're only having issues w/ one side or the other it's possible it could be the motor causing the problem. Check your ground as well to make sure it's good. My money is on the switch.

Try cleaning the switch contacts.
