Cam For A 2003 1500 4.8l?

as the title says im just wondering if u can get a cam for a 4.8l i have looked eveywhere and cant find one. just wondering if any one has herd of any where that sells them or have herd of any one that has put a cam in a 4.8l.

any cam that will fit an ls1, ls2, ls6, ls7, or any of the iron vortec truck motors. just remember, the 4.8 is smaller in displacement, so a smaller duration cam will give the same benefits as a larger duration in a larger motor

The 2002 LS6 cam is a popular upgrade. Its worth 30 horse in a 5.3 and you should get real close to that in the 4.8 just less torque. You can get the cam for around 200 i think and the LS6 springs for around 50 from sdparts.com

 

Or search ebay for a low miles used setup.

 

It you want a lopy idle, get something with a 112 LSA, and most guys run a 212/218 or 218/220 and have good results. the LS6 cam can also be run with the stock programming, where as a lopy cam will need to have a custom tune to run right.
