to make along story short, would it make a difference where your chevy was built. being canadian guess i'm a little pro canadian when it comes to buying a new silverado and where its built, how about everyone else...is the quality better in the us or canada or is the plant in mexico just as good or even better. does it matter to you...there are just as many silverado's being built there as in canada. like the saying americas truck

I had actually read (here I believe) that the Canadian plant has been proven to have paint issues. I don't mean to spread rumors that aren't true, so maybe someone can enlighten us.

My truck's Canadian, btw.

My truck is built in Canada. Canada builds just as good as a truck as Americans IMO. Mexico stuff is junk.

Yeah i'm not all for Mexico. I believe the paint thing on Canada though, my truck has some issues, on the bottom of the cab below the left rear door theres a missing paint spot, and some paint had been flaked of my bed when I got it, barely noticeable but still..

Have you had any previous bad experiences with Mexico-built GM trucks, or are you just assuming?

Didn't take it the wrong way. Just curious as to why he'd say they're junk though

Of course I was just j/k. You know, I didn't even know they were assembling trucks in Mexico. My TV remote works fine though. :loser:

I'm assuming. My wife had a new 2000 WV Jetta VR6 built in Mexico and it was nothing but problems. We kept it till the warranty ran out and then got rid of it.

Mine was built in Canada. I actually got a call from the factory to see how I liked the truck and if I had any complaints. Happy so far.

I have driven a handful of Tacoma's and Tundra's that were assembled in Mexico and I honestly haven't seen any difference in those assembled in America. If the company is a good company then it will have strict quality control.
