Has Anyone Removed The 4x4 Z71 Sticker?

Any of you removed the 4x4 or z71 sticker from your truck bed on the NBS? If so what method and how difficult was it? Does the clear coat go over the sticker?

Just park it in the sun and peel it off. It isn't any better quality than a typical bumper sticker.

Did mine a couple weeks ago. Took about 10 minutes to remove the stickers. It was a little bit more difficult to remove the adhesive residue. But get some 3M Adhesive Remover and a soft towel and it comes off nicely.

 

I used a hair dryer to warm it up a little bit. They actually came off in one-piece too.

Several people have done it, and no it doesn't hurt anything to remove it. The clearcoat is not sprayed over the sticker.

 

Heating it up with a hair dryer and then starting on the corner is the best method as far as I know.

 

I've still got mine on though, I could give or take it.

No. Nobody who is a member of GM-Trucks has ever done that. It's an unwritten rule.

I took mine off (the 99) when I got it using the hairdryer and peel the corner method. I don't recommend this but I've seen a guy remove the stickers at the car wash by peeling the corner and then using the pressure sprayer to literally blow the sticker off. It was entertaining to watch him hold the corner of the sticker in one hand and try to operate the long wand in the other without hitting the truck. I will say he took less time doing this then my more traditional method.

I took everything but the little gm logos off. Had some sore thumbs afterwards.

Now, WHY would you want to leave those little squares? I took off the 4x4 stickers and the little GM squares and left the rest of them on....for now.

The main reason I left them on was becuase I was done messing with it that night and my buddy talked me into leaving them on. I will take it off one of these days. I liked the silverado emblems but was a pain to get all the salt and sand out from around them.

As soon as I get off of here I am going to go take the logos off.
